Although Covid-19 has thrown a major curve-ball in our usual annual opening date and procedures, we aren’t letting this virus stop the 746 lifestyle. The day we had to keep our doors shut for the safety of the community is the day we started planning how we can safely re-open. Well, we’ve planned and implemented. You can expect our generous servings of Kawartha dairy ice cream and the gift shop to be open come mid-June.
This being said, we’ve had to make some major changes. I’m sure you’re all familiar with 746’s constant adaptability through change and growth, but this year you can expect even more. We’ll be serving ice cream from a window accessible from outside of the store. Picture a similar style as the food truck (this is pretty exciting). We will work in compliance with the provincial government guidelines to have the customer washroom open for use, as well. As for the store, we are adding an extra door for a separate entrance and exit. This will allow you to shop around and stay on a safe and distanced path from one another. You can also expect the store to be renovated as we think we’ve finally found our true niche. More Canadian-strong than ever, the shop will be focused on Kawartha Lakes souvenirs and unique gifts. Additionally, we are introducing something very exciting that we’ve been working on… so stay tuned, as more surprises are to come.
We are proud to be a business in the Kawarthas and look forward to working with our government through each phase of reopening. We really hope to have our fairy gardens and seating areas available in the near future. Please note that gatherings larger than five people are still not allowed so we ask that you watch your numbers even when maintaining the 6.5 ft social distance.
Many thanks for your business and we are looking forward to an amazing summer season!
